Metal:
At Thalken, we use high-quality, long-lasting materials that are beautiful and built for everyday wear.
Gold-filled (yellow and rose) is not the same as gold-platedâitâs much more durable. Gold-filled jewelry is made by bonding a thick layer of solid gold to a base metal (typically jewelerâs brass) using heat and pressure. This process creates a long-lasting finish that wonât flake or peel like gold plating. The result is a resilient, tarnish-resistant surface that looks and wears like solid gold for years. Itâs also nickel-free and, for most people, hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. Over time, moving parts like clasps or jump rings may show wear before the chain itselfâthis is normal and can vary depending on wear and individual skin chemistry.
Sterling silver is a solid precious metal made of 92.5% pure silver alloyed with copper for strength. It is also nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and can last a lifetime with proper care.

JEWELRY CARE & MAINTENANCE
Thalken pieces are made with quality materialsâbut theyâre dainty by nature, so a little extra care goes a long way. Avoid tugging or wearing your jewelry during workouts, sleep, or any vigorous activity. This helps prevent damage or accidental loss, especially with earrings (which, like all earrings, can slip out during sleep).
To clean:
- Sterling silver can be gently polished with a silver creamâwe like Wrightâs.
- Solid gold and gold-filled can be cleaned with a tiny bit of mild dish soap (we recommend Dawn) and warm water.
- With gold-filled pieces, avoid over-cleaning to preserve the thick bonded layer of gold. That said, weâve tested all our jewelry and can vouchâit holds up beautifully in everyday life.
Store your jewelry in a dry place, ideally in a pouch or box to prevent tangling and tarnish. And as always, treat each piece like the tiny treasure it is.

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love what you ordered! Most items are eligible for hassle-free returns within 14 business days of delivery.
Important Exception â Socks
Due to the personal nature of socks and to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness, we cannot accept returns, refunds, or exchanges on socks. All sock sales are final. This ensures every customer always receives a fresh, brand-new pair.
Return Eligibility (all other items)
To be eligible for a refund, items must be:
- Unworn and undamaged
- In their original packaging
- With all tags attached
- Shipped back in the original mailer
Return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. If we receive a return that is damaged, missing, or does not match the original return request, a refund will not be issued.
